Declaration of Montreal

The Declaration of Montreal calls for access to pain management to be a human right for all people with pain. The Declaration was announced in 2010 at the International Pain Summit. Read the full text and sign the Declaration of Montreal.

Professor Michael Cousins AO, who chaired the International Pain Summit, subsequently addressed a conference of International Human Rights Organisations in the Netherlands. You can also hear him interviewed on Canadian radio here. This radio program also includes an extended interview with a Canadian who has suffered from chronic pain for most of his adult life.
