APMA is very grateful for the recent assistance received from Ian Dillon and the Silver Memories radio service to produce several short community service announcements publicising this prevalent health issue and some of the APMA services available to assist. It is planned to provide copies of the announcements to radio stations around Australia, seeking assistance to raise awareness about the effect of persistent pain and the services available through APMA to assist people with persistent pain, by regular broadcasting of the recordings to listeners. This will be particularly important in regional areas, where pain services are limited, and for the large numbers of people who may be isolated and/or housebound as a result of their pain.
