APMA applauds the short films recently developed and released by the Life Before Death project (which is supported by a number of organisations, including the International Association for the Study of Pain IASP).The project aims to draw attention to the sweeping epidemic of pain that threatens to condemn one in every ten of us to an agonising and shameful death. The objective of the project is to change the culture of medicine to become more focused on care, rather than exclusively on cure. The project includes 50 short films themed around pain control and end of life issues. A feature film will be released later this year. You can view several of these powerful short films here, or visit http://lifebeforedeath.com/ for more information and to view more of the films.
