To enhance the wellbeing of all Australians living with persistent pain through supported self- efficacy.

Our Vision

Pain relief is a human right and achievable in the 21st Century. All Australians living with persistent pain or in caring roles are entitled to life quality such as:

  • Respectful and knowledgeable societal attitudes toward persistent pain
  • Safe high quality healthcare
  • Empowerment to manage own care
  • Social and workplace advocacy
  • Education and training to develop the skill set needed to best manage ongoing pain.

Our Objectives

  • Provide evidence-based Persistent Pain information and options
  • De-stigmatise Persistent Pain in Australia
  • Deliver social networking and peer support
  • Promote evidence-based policy and practice
  • Develop and deliver information and training for the community sector
  • Provide Persistent Pain self-management education and support
  • Raise workplace awareness and support more flexible workplace practices
  • Influence Governments, employers and the Australian community generally about the needs of affected individuals and their families
  • Lobby for properly resourced community and consumer organizations to support Australians affected by Persistent Pain.

  • Pain Support Groups
  • National Pain Link helpline 1300 340 357
  • Community-based self-management education for Persistent Pain for clients, carers and staff
  • Community outreach to raise awareness of Persistent Pain and the experience of living with Persistent Pain
  • Extend our reference library of books, peer-reviewed journal articles and other resource materials, for the use of members, volunteers and the public
  • Provide information and training for community groups
  • Social and information activities
  • Collaborate with Painaustralia, and other organisations working to improve life for people with Peristent Pain
  • Produce an informative, educational magazines on a quarterly basis - Wellbeing
  • Link Australians living with Persistent Pain in rural and remote Australia by email and telephone
